My Car - Alfa Romeo 145 1.8
Ushuaia City in summer. The picture is taken from La Pasarela.
Another View of the city. Notice the road near the left side of the picture that goes to the glacier.
Picture of the city taken from the East near El Olivia.
This picture was taken from the Beagle Channel, possibly navigating in a 'Catamaran' (heading for the Penguin's Island or something similar).
Ushuaia's Bay in calm wind conditions.
'Laguna Escondida' if my memory doesn't fail me. About 40 Miles north through Route three. The passage is called 'Paso Garibaldi' and it's the only way out of the island by road.
Part of the city's docks. The mountains in the back belong to Navarino's Island in Chile.
This is a neighborhood near the city's downtown. The hill on the left is called 'Monte Susana'. The water you see here, is not part of the Beagle's Channel. It's a little bay (separated from the channel by 'La Pasarella, a dirt road a mile long, two lanes). This little bay used to froze in winter and we all skated there. But that happened more than 12 years ago.
Again, the city from the Beagle Channel (perhaps taken from the docks) The triangle is the 'Governor's Building'. Notice the small 4 story white contruction a few blocks uphill, red roof. I lived there for 9 years, then moved to a house 'near the mountains'.
This one looks like a river... Seriously it might be the 'Pipo's river'. Just a river, ok?
Now this is taken FROM the city, heading south, south west. The mountains are far, and belong, again, to Chile (Navarino Island). Notice, that closer than the houses in the back, there is a dirt elevation about 3 ft. high. That's 'La Pasarela I've talked about in the other pictures'. It separates Beagle's Channel from 'La Bahia' or 'The Bay'. The houses in the back are in the Old Airport's road.
This is a motel, about 70 miles from Ushuaia. It's called 'Hosteria Kaiken?', I believe. The lake is Lake Fagnano and it's the biggest in the island. Believe me, it's big (it reachs chile). Notice the a few miles ahead of the motel? if you read all the pictures, you probably know 'El Paso Garibaldi'. It's the only way out by road out of the city.
